I was wondering if anyone has been to a Joe Hill signing. I will be in Nashua on 10/11 to have him sign a copy of his new book but wondered a couple things:
1. Will he only sign the new book or can I bring a copy of the record Dark Carousel or another book to have him sign as well.
2. Would he sign his full/real name if I ask?
Just curious...thanks

I've never been to a signing but from what I've read, Joe is pretty accommodating. Of course, it can all depend on the crowd size. If there is a big turnout, it may not be possible for him do anything extra. I think his following is growing all the time. So I say buy his new book and take one of your old ones with you and you may get lucky.

My son has a friend who works at a lot cons, comic etc. He is promoting a re boot of The Phantom. My son is involved with the graphic novel, but his friend is on the promotion end. Anyway, there was a World Con in Dublin last week. It mostly caters to the sci fi/fantasy crowd and writers. Well Joe Hill was there and I got a signed copy of The Fireman. I was told he's a very easy going guy. He had no problem signing my book. Better than that he spelled my name right!!!

....just a guess on my part, but he seems to be on a popularity arc that will begin to limit his abilities to be all inclusive......hell of a nice guy, just like Dad-but only so much of him to go around......

Hello! It's been my experience that if you have a lot of times that you'd like an author to sign that you can go through the line with the required amount of books, if they have put a limit on how many the author will sign (let's say two books), get those two signed and then ask if they would mind if you went to the back of the line to wait to have the rest of your books/items signed. I've done this numerous times (James Patterson, Dan Simmons- poor guy, as I had two stacks to get signed!) and have always been successful. Or you could simply bring a friend or relative and have them get a couple of things signed for you. I have also done this.
