I just noticed this photo of Joe Hill meeting Ray Bradbury for the first time at a Comic Con (thought it might fit in well here)

Can someone let me know if it shows up or not? Sometimes I can see an image but then others will post that it is blank - thanks!

Heart Shaped box sees a fiftysomething metal god collect macabre objects, and the story asks the deeper question Can you ever really escape your past? In NOS4A2 there's a chapter about a guy—Hicks, I think his name is—who takes selfies with famous people who've died, collecting the photos.

Where am I going with this, you ask? Here: In an interview, Joe mentioned that sometimes stories don't always work out…but parts of those stories, every now and then, find their way into other projects. So i was wondering if the chapter on Hicks might've been a holdover from his first attempt at HSB. The scenes open in a very similar way. The collecting of items. His nurse friend = Mary Beth. The catalyst of deciding to buy a ghost online, setting the wheels in motion, could've been making the choice to take photos with a dead and infamous serial killer.

I've read Heart-Shaped Box and Horns. Loved both, but I actually liked Horns more than HSB. It was very weird--but that's what I liked about it! I couldn't put it down.

I'm excited to see the movie and see how it fares to the book. My goal is to try to watch it today!

I thought it was a really good adaptation. They were definitely fortunate to hire a screenwriter who could streamline the complex, time-jumpy novel (I honestly couldn't see how they would ever film it) into a watchable film that didn't 'cheat' the story. It impressed me!

I have a question: Does anyone know if Heart-Shaped Box or NOS4A2 are going to made into movies? Has anyone bought the film rights to those books? (Or maybe even 20th Century Ghosts?)

(Also: 200 pages into NOS4A2 right now and loving it!)

I looked at IMDB a few days ago to see if there was anything in the pipeline ... sadly not :(

NOS4A2 would be a great horror/fantasy - pictured Melissa George as the older Vic and Rosario Dawson as Tabitha Hutter - William Fichtner as Manx :)

:smile2: Today I get to be in Christmas land. I'ts a cold winter day in Colorado, and for lunch there is hot coco with cinnamon, chili powder, and homemade whip-cream on top, served with blueberry pancake sausages on a stick.
