I was in the Salvation Army store today looking around and came across a book by John Connolly. I've never read any of his books and looked on the back and this book was set in Maine. So I just looked up and he's got his own website.

I'm just wondering if he's got good books.

Well, Mr. C., I looked this dude up on Amazon, and all his books look really good to me! His novels have a 4- to 5-star rating in most cases. I may have to download the first in his Charlie Parker series to see if I like him as much as others seem to. Thanks for bringing him to my attention.

I've read some and they were excellent. I suggest "Every Dead Thing." It's the first in the Charlie Parker series.

Oh yeah, definitely give him a whirl...myself, I'm couple years behind his work and way anxious to catch up.

I've read 3 or 4 of the Parker series. Very dark at times with just a whisper of supernaturality. Not sure it that is even a word?

One of my favorites his Charlie Parker books are in my top 10 series about detectives

The first book of his that I read was The Book of Lost Things. I read it after the love of my life moved away. That was very comforting to me at the time. I would include it in my Top 10 favorite books of all time. I also liked The Creeps, The Infernals, and The Wrath of Angels.
