Another uselss fact from rocker72. John mellencamp first started out as Johnny Cougar, then john Cougar mellenCamp then john mellencamp. he hails from Indiana. He smokes 3 packets a day(I thought I was bad) and has signed to a lifetime contract with a record company. Listen to Nothin matter's and what if it did or SCarerow or the lonesome jubilee. He has his fans and is very underrated. I think the ghost.... you can get on CD. I assume there will be no tour to Europe.

Try No Better Than This if you haven't heard it. Released in 2010, it's a collection of "down home" type songs; they would all fit in very well as an alternative soundtrack to "O Brother, Where Art Thou!" Recorded in mono, on 50s equipment, it's stripped down, jangly gold. Here's my favorite:
