I really enjoyed the character of Susan and her relationship with Roland. They really seemed like soulmates with how much they truly loved each other. I pretty much figured what would happen to her, seeing as Roland is alone when telling the story, but it was a really tragic ending for those two. It really left me depressed and I actually cried a little reading about her horrible death. I was also hoping Roland went after Rhea for what she did to Susan but that didn't happen (yet?)

I'm going to read Book V, but first I'm going to read The Outsider.

I read W&G as a teenager and did not understand it at all whatsoever.
Then I read it again, and still didn't understand why it needed to be told.

Then I fell in love and got married and read it again and finally and totally understood it's importance to the canon.

And has since become my favorite DT novel of them all.

Experiences within ones life and time often change the perception of books.

...it was definitely a "doomed" love story, but apparently soured Roland on any other romantic attachments.....

I am one of those Constant Readers that hopes King will eventually tell the tale of what happened when Roland finally caught up to Rhea (that b*tch!). We know that he eventually did, but not the details (yet).

When I grow up, I'm going to re-read Grapes of Idiots.
Speaking of idiots, just saw on the news the video of the woman that was feeding a shark off the back of a boat. Yes, you read that correctly- she was feeding a shark with her hands. Needless to say the shark grabbed hold of a finger and pulled her into the water. Idiot. :facepalm_smiley:

So, she's sleeping in the fishes?
