Just finished ck. Now I know why I have read a lot of frustration among readers. But I must say sk did prepare us for it. Especially the last 1/4 of book he talks about how not everything is wrapped up in a nice bow. Or has a beginning, middle and end. Just as life. I think sk was teaching us something here.

But for blank and giggles did sk ever say or give any hints on what happened to ck. I ask bc if he doesn't know either then there is no point investigating the facts of the case any further. Bc in reality if he doesn't know then the cigs, Russian coin, the span of time table doesn't matter bc as he wrote it he never knew. Now, if he does secretly know then it's worth the time to list everything on paper and try to figure it out. Does any know if king left this open for us to figure out, or just left it open to show point of life isn't always nice and neat?

IMHO- yes to both of your questions.

A very pleasurable read. I find that I am a sucker for the "small island Maine life" books that SK writes. Something about that setting and the atmosphere of a tiny, isolated tight knit community...how well everyone knows each other and how they interact with each other. Home Delivery, Delores Claiborne and Storm of the Century come to mind. That just does it for me. Perhaps the reason I love Colorado Kid so dearly.

Done Colorado Kid, very different than I expected, very Stephen King. I was expecting a stereotypical noir Phillip Marlow mystery. Glad it was what it was.
Looks like "Cell" is next for me.
