....at a pawn shop for $1!!! I know I saw this when it first was out, but I really don't remember what I thought about the movie. I think I will do a reread, then watch it.

Wow 91rewoT - this is the second post of yours I have read where you found a movie for only a dollar at a pawn shop! (and they were both Stephen King movies!)
Can I come shopping in your neighbourhood?
Coincidentally I happen to know a guy here in Winnipeg who actually owns a pawn shop. You've now given me a great idea! (Time to go hit Tony's place - thanks!) :big_money:

Go for it Neesy! I don't go to the pawn shop often, but hubby wanted to pop in for a look around. Glad we did - I had no idea they sold DVDs that cheap! It was a little overwhelming as there was no order to any of them, and I was actually looking for kid's movies when I came across these. I will be truthful here - I almost posted in the Insomnia thread that I got that movie Insomnia for $1. Turns out it's not a Stephen King Insomnia...

Oh - I saw that one in the theatre about 11 or 12 years ago - a really weird movie with Al Pacino - I really should go hit Tony's before Christmas then (I think he is the one who took me to see that movie way back when) :fox:

I never read the story. It was in a book called Everything's Eventual and since I couldn't read every story I was unable to read any of them.
I saw the movie 4 times though. I used to like John Cusack until he decided to become what he calls "an elephant trainer."
I still like the movie, I'm just not as crazy as I used to be about John Cusack.

An elephant trainer, as Cusack sees it, is someone who converts Republicans to Democrats. Like HE is b/c he can afford to be any damn thing he WANTS to be.
It's not like he's a common working stiff and anyway the Republican Party FAVORS people like HIM.
I'll never understand why someone with boo coup bucks decides they want to pay high taxes.
I personally can't afford to pay high taxes but I'm doing it anyway in Federal income.

The movie is great but I agree Cusack was a good additional to the story. I need to go back and reread the story. What about the Secret Window with Johnny Depp? That is one at the top of my list too. He did an excellent job as well! I actually had a dream I was stuck in a hotel like 1408 a couple months ago....every time I hear something about 1408 I will recall this dream, not good.

One of the best Stephen King adaptions after the Green Mile and Shawshank Redemption. Though the film was nothing like the short story it worked. I've watched it like five or more times gets creepier the more I see it. John Cusack by the way plays writers well, he can be a bit quirky but I think that's part of his charm. I follow him on twitter and I think what is he on about half the time ;-D:rofl:.
