The Drawing Of The Three really opens up a whole universe of possibililities as to what King could do with this series. I was there when The Gunslinger was first published, although I didn't get to read it until two years after it was published, because I had no idea it even existed until I read it listed in the 'published works' list at the front of the hardback of Pet Semetary, way back in 1984! I loved the first book, because it was so different from anything King had written before. It was also my second real limited edition illustrated book and Michael Whelan's illo's really solidified the look and feel of Roland's world for me, right from the get-go. I will never forget the feeling of stunned awe after I finished the last sentence of The Gunslinger. But, when I read TDOTT, I knew that we Constant Readers were in for something magnificent! I couldn't wait for the next installments to come out. Those of us who are of a certain age, and those who have been fans for years, have had to suffer thru months and sometimes years of waiting for those books to come out. Just the anticipation was enough to kill us! I'm glad you are enjoying the book. King has such sights to show you!!
