120 miles S of the Pancake/Waffle line
We need a system like that on the west coast. The major N/S roads are parking lots. Very few major business to the north, so they all travel south- Tampa/ St Pete even Orlando. Have a neighbor who drives to Orlando daily. A 50 mile stretch from my area into Tampa can take up to 3 hours.

Brightline is planning a Orlano to Tampa leg but it's a long way off.

One of the things about Florida travel where I'm at is that there is no good way to get from the East Coast to the West Coast. It's mostly these dangerous two lane roads with a lot of slow truck traffic that people have to pass. Plus I have a big lake to go around.

LOL. My father-in-law still to this day refuses to venture into my shed. About 5 years ago I had a snake about 4 feet long living in it. I called him George. :)
Seeing a lot o black snakes this year. Fewer corals, which is a good thing. Rattlers more so since someone started building a house out back/ took entire 10a of trees down.

I sometime took a scenic train ride through the Poconos during fall to enjoy the changing of the foliage. It was on a very old steam train that was coal fired. We sat in an open car. You got coal dust in your eyes and had your clothes singed by hot coal dust billowing out of the smokestack and coughed the entire time. Trains have never been a fun experience for me.

This was the one...

I got to ride in an old train like this also, they were retiring it and it was a big deal. But we sat inside. So old fashioned like a Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid train. I loved it.

Agree about E/W roads.
As a kid my folks would put me on a train from Yonkers, NY to center city NYC to visit grandparents. Travel was safe then. Subway to their station. Your description of train in Chicago reminded me of the El trains in NYC. People in apartments would wave a passengers.

They now have a newer train. Boring. The town near me where you can ride the train was always nicknamed "Switzerland of America" but some place in Colorado stole it.

And just last week the town closed Glen Onoko Falls to visitors going forward because there have been many hiking trail deaths there, not to mention all the rescues that had to be preformed. I don't like the idea of them closing it. You just had to be extra careful hiking around the falls... I was.

the scenery on the beaches of Miami and South Beach are excellent this time of year. :)
Things must have changed since I was there. One day, I was just sitting on the beach minding my own business (well, mostly), and this guy walked by.....looked a lot like Beetle Bailey, only he was wearing a neon green thong. Where do you think he chose to sit, knowing he ALL of South Beach to choose from?
Now, Y'all already know I'm twisted.....I tried to stifle the laugh, but it had already left my lungs. I ended up making some sort of loud gurgle/snort noise that was much more audible than the laugh would have been. :facepalm_smiley:

Happy Hump Day!

Went to a soccer game the 2 littles played in last night. Got Spencer to giggle for the first time. First time at me, anyway. So adorable. The soccer fields have a nice path around them with a little lake that geese love. There was a group of about 6 geese that kept circling the fields, like they were trying to figure out what the heck all those kids were doing on their grass. :D

Have a great day everyone. Big hugs and positive vibes to all! :love_heart:

cat in the bag, Happy you got to hear baby giggles! Sounds like the best time ever.
