Happy Father's Day Weekend, everyone. I think I'm going to slow cook a pork shoulder for barbecue and make potato salad and take my grandfather a plate. He didn't have the energy for a garden this year but I should have several cucumbers soon from the seeds Dio sent me; they're doing great. (They are called Space Master.)

How are you and Andy doing Neesy?
Everything okay?
Hi!

Sorry - I was off answering a couple of old conversations then I got distracted.

Home Care comes in today to help him with his dressing change. It's a bit of a long story but I will try to condense it:

Went in for surgery, got released the next day; after being home about 8 hours he noticed swelling on his chest on the left side. So - since he had forgotten his phone charger at the hospital room anyway (the nurse called) he went back in on Sunday.

He showed the swelling to the nurse and she told him to go to the ER.

After about 8 or 9 hours there (at least they put him in a bed [in room 19 incidentally!] - {I took a picture}) he was readmitted. This time he went to a different ward where he got much better care.

He got a good rest after they reinserted the chest tube to drain some fluid.

He was raring to go and kept texting me, telling me to come get him (this was Monday).

So - long story short - it turns out he had something called "subcutaneous emphysema" following surgery which according to the doctor was an unforeseen complication.

Whew - that's it - I am tired of typing now lol

Just came back from checking my lemon poppy seed loaf that was in the oven - I think it needs another 10 minutes until it's cooked all the way through

Thanks for asking!
