If anyone happens to have an unlimited data plan thru Verizon Wireless, you can get a 1-year free subscription to the new Disney channel that just launched yesterday or day before, something like that. There's some really good shows on there for the kiddos and the first episode of The Mandalorian was very good. All the Marvel Avengers movies are on there, pretty much anything Disney has bought out has produced. They have a pretty good lineup so far and our toddler is very happy with the channel.

Is that the streaming service, Disney plus? I refuse to pay anything for these streaming services, people. Pretty soon you'll have to pay for individual shows. People will call me crazy for saying something like that, but I bet no one ever thought Disney would end up owning Fox now, did they?

Darn freezing here too. Was i really complaining about summer? I'm not ready for this kind of cold. Come back August!

Congratulations! Haunted amusement park makes me think of Joyland - gosh, I loved that book. Enjoy your new job and the ghost hunting.

Dear friends - my mom got some good news Friday. The doctor wants to confirm it was good news with a test tomorrow, but I'm almost certain I'll be sharing the best news possible tomorrow. Thank you for your prayers, thoughts, green lights, good vibes. They worked. And even though my mom was as she ever is, my sister and I maintained our decorum and had a good time complaining when she was out of earshot.

Ya know - if it ain't one thing, it's yer mother.
Hoping for the best, and you're right, Joyland is great.

Happy Hump Day!

Went after groceries this morning. Got most of what I could buy ahead of time for Thanksgiving plus regular groceries. So glad that's (mostly) bought! Grocery was having pretty good sales. Using coupons on my store savings card I saved $97! I think that's my personal best. I don't remember ever going over $100. (How scary is it that coupon savings excite me? What a life! )

Hope everyone is having a great day. Big hugs and positive vibes to all! :love_heart:

Hope everyone is staying warm and toasty. We were at 70F yesterday, 58F this morning, then it dropped like a rock. A bit of fluffy snow mid day that has already melted and more cold air! Thanks, Canada! o_O :biggrin2:

You are welcome. What state do you live in? I felt jealous when I looked out and saw snow and 8 was like hmm I bet Stephen king and tabby are in Florida and then I got sad.

One of the best things she's ever told me was to wash my nose out. Do any of you do this? Every morning in the shower, just tilt your head up, get some warm water inside your nose (not up it, just barely inside) and use your fingers and scrub the snot out. Apparently there's lots of nastiness in there. Give it a try.
Thanks for that practical advice!

I like to use this stuff when I first wake up, especially in winter when the furnace is on:

Happy Taco Tuesday

Dr. Oz had an episode recently about all the weird stuff that was found in tacos from the fast food taco places - makes me wonder about eating those things, even when they are on sale! (But they do taste good - especially the crunchy ones from Taco Bell) :chew::drool:

I know - I know (it's Thursday already) but I am playing "catch up"

All this talk of chili on the previous page got me thinking so I am cooking some potatoes in their skins in one pot and also some lean ground beef with onions and gravy (yum)

:m_corn:

It's not chili but it's the next best thing

I still have a landline number even though i never use it (use my cell phone of course). I've had the number for years and I only keep it so that when I do something like apply for a credit card, I have that number to use. That way when the company sells my information, it's not my cell number. Plus it may be the number some old friend I haven't talked to for years has. Basically, I keep it for junk calls and I never call out on it. I just check the messages for anything important. Anyway, I have been paying $35 a month just to keep this number. After years of seeing these adds for Magic Jack, I thought I'd give it a try. I got rid of my phone company and signed up for Magic Jack and it works great for this. It costs $50 a year and they send me the my messages in wave files by e-mail (awesome). I wish I would have made this change years ago.

If you are clinging to a landline number that you don't want to get rid of, this might work well for you.
