120 miles S of the Pancake/Waffle line
Was not there a time --1950's?-- when Fl stayed on one time all year?

I believe that I heard when the legislators were working on this bill, they were going to try and get that weird time zone issue in the panhandle fixed but the panhandle people didn't want to change it. (There's a portion of the Florida panhandle that is in the central time zone) So, I think that section of the panhandle in staying in the central time zone. (the part where it looks like Florida stole Alabama's waterfront property;-D)

I don't know. I've never heard that.
Daylight Saving Time 1945 to 1966[edit]
From 1945 to 1966 U.S. federal law did not address DST. States and cities were free to observe DST or not, and most places that did observe DST did so from the last Sunday in April to the last Sunday in September. In the mid-1950s many areas in the northeastern United States began extending DST to the last Sunday in October. The lack of standardization led to a patchwork where some areas observed DST while adjacent areas did not, and it was not unheard of to have to reset a clock several times during a short trip (e.g., bus drivers operating on West Virginia Route 2 between Moundsville, West Virginia, and Steubenville, Ohio had to reset their watches seven times over 35 miles).[6]

In summer 1960 April–October Daylight Time was nearly universal in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware and states east and north of there. In Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Kentucky and Virginia and states north and east of there, some areas had it and some did not. Except for California and Nevada, which had April-Sept Daylight Time, 99% of the rest of the country used Standard Time year-round. (The Official Guide says "State law prohibits the observance of "Daylight Saving" time in Kentucky but Anchorage, Louisville and Shelbyville will advance their clocks one hour from Central Standard time for the period April 24 to October 29, inclusive.")

In the middle 1960s the airline and other transportation industries lobbied for uniformity of Daylight dates in the United States.

If memory serves me correctly FL was one of the states that did not extend the DST at that time period. Remember thinking it was odd driving from NY to visit an aunt in Tampa that she was on a diff. time.

It's a bit early where I am, but I like a nice vodka gimlet...

It was 8:23 a.m.

I'm really not much of a drinker to be honest. I do enjoy Bailey's Irish Cream in my hot coffee but I save this sort of treat for the holiday season (Christmas, usually).

Actually I like it so much, I am reluctant to open that 750 ml bottle of it that is in my liquor cabinet. (It goes down too fast and I probably don't need all that alcohol, sugar and cream!

Bailey's & coffee is my go-to breakfast drink but really it is more sugar than alcohol. Yum!

They're actually not all that scary but then again I don't have ophidiophobia or herpetophobia

Ophidiophobia. Ophidiophobia or ophiophobia is a particular type of specific phobia, the abnormal fear of snakes. It is sometimes called by a more general term, herpetophobia, fear of reptiles and/or amphibians. The word comes from the Greek words "ophis" (ὄφις) which refers to snake, and "phobia" (φοβία) meaning fear.

Mornin`, Gunners.

Well, well, a new saloon for us, what happened, we drank the other one dry? :D

Just popping in for a quick hello, not much is really happening, winter is still here, it`s cold and snowing again in the last couple of days.
Healthwise all is good, had a bit of cold last week and my wife is having one now, but it`s not too bad, it will pass fast.
I`m still on the wagon, 14 months now and I don`t even think about it anymore. It`s a rare occasion when I think of a beer, usually when watching some sports event I`d like t have a cold one, but then I forget about it again within the next 5 minutes.
Kiddo is doing good, she keeps getting awards of excellence in school and is making her parents proud, she is a good kid.

Maybe we spoil her a bit too much, but she is our only kid and life is gonna get hard later on so...why not spoil her a bit, who else is gonna do it? Just a bit though, I can and do say "no" every now and then, she can`t get exactly everything she would want to.
Writing away on my novel, it`s going good, but it`s dang time consuming, writing is a serious job, all my thoughts are constantly in the story, makes it hard to concentrate on anything else. A lot of work to be done, ( I abandoned a novel I had written previously, I don`t think it was good enough so I started all over again without ever looking at the old novel again, it didn`t capture at all what I wanna say ) gotta finish this draft in Serbian, and then translate it all into the English language. It`s time, when am I gonna do it if not now? If I`m done by the end of the year with both drafts, I`ll declare myself to be The Black Panther. :D
That would be it for this time, as always, I`m around, not so much lately `cause of the writing, but there has to be time to say Hi to you every now and then and let you know I`m always thinking of you and loving you guys very much.
I hope you are all well. Are you? I didn`t browse the threads, so I have no idea what`s going on.
Much love and green lights.
