I have great respect for the Americans, half of them are Scots/Irish anyway.
About 33 million Americans (about 10% of the total US population) are of Irish ancestry... me included. That means there are about 6.5 times more people here of Irish ancestry than the total population of Ireland. I guess the Irish really got busy once they came here. :)

More Americans speak Scots Gaelic than in the whole of Scotland, let that sink in.

My grandmother was from Dublin Ireland, she didn't come out to this country until 1948.
She spoke perfect Irish Gaelic, ranked native speaker at Loreto of Bray (where she graduated from).
Both my grandfather's were mixed blood Cherokee.
And NOBODY CARES. Let's all just get along. None of us are any better than the rest of us.

My grandmother was from Dublin Ireland, she didn't come out to this country until 1948.
She spoke perfect Irish Gaelic, ranked native speaker at Loreto of Bray (where she graduated from).
Both my grandfather's were mixed blood Cherokee.
And NOBODY CARES. Let's all just get along. None of us are any better than the rest of us.

And it's good to know where you're family came from, not that it makes anyone better than anyone else, Bray is lovely by the way!

I think it's important to know where you came from, it gives you a sense of pride.
