Like many other folks here, I am saddened that the shuttering of the board is a little closer to reality. I refuse to get all down in the dumps about it though, and will not be crying woe is me. After all, we have an entire year plus some to enjoy ourselves. Let's concentrate on the positives rather than whine, cry and stomp our feet.
I for one, am so happy to have found the SKMB and the people who make it a family. I've made many lasting friendships here, and would like to keep in touch.
I have exchanged addresses and phone numbers with several wonderful people, and welcome any and all who want to keep in touch to send me your contact info via PM, and I'll do the same. I promise I'm not weird.....well, not much!
Please feel free to use this thread to tag folks you'd like to keep in touch with if you're inclined to do so.
.......And please, let's celebrate the positives of our experience here, and not concentrate so much on the things we cannot change. Change is inevitable my friends, roll with it and be happy. ♥

I'm an old sentimental romantic- my posts may be sappy or seem fatalistic but I'm not depressed. I agree about celebrating the good times. It's funny because I used to write on Facebook what I believed were life affirming posts and I'd invariably receive comments like, "That's so sad." Some would say, "Are you ok?" LOL.
It still gives me pause. I know you are speaking generally but I had to throw that out there.

Well said. Perhaps it won't really disappear altogether, just take another form. The Kon in Maine was a bucket list trip for me and hubby. Mostly me, but he had a great time and is now revisiting books he hasn't read in ages. Things happen the way they are supposed to.
