My experience with Smule, my son, he has had a blast with it and I have too listening to it I had to create numerous accounts so I could put :love_heart: on them, and I could never remember my passwords . He used to do duets with this girl all the time ... heres one

You are so nice, GNTLGNT !! :a11: I look so terrible, but I wasn't even thinking anyone would see it until after I finished, and remembered this thread. Hahaha.
Thanks to you, too, cat in a bag !
Maddie , thank you again! I only stumbled upon that app about 6 months ago, and I couldn't believe I'd never heard of it before. It's been out for years! I think I recognize that username you posted above. Can't wait to listen to your son when I get out of work!

She is really good, most of the time, his pairing with her was definetly some unique duets. ;-D

Good stuff doc! I love to sing. I decided, last year, to record myself playing music for posterity. I grabbed my teachers scotch, my guitar and songs file, and my video recorder. The pattern was, I'd leaf through some songs in my files while having a shot or 2 of whiskey, and then record. Stop after I finished the song, and repeat the process. A few weeks later I wanted to give it a listen and I had things completely screwed around. There were about 12 video edits of me looking through files and drinking and, when I stood up to play the song I turned the vid recorder off (should have been on), played the song, then turned it on again (should have been off) to look for another song. I laughed my head off when I found this out. I kept that video so when I want to rock out I play it and watch an old guy staring and rustling through papers for, like, twelve times.

Thanks, there are so many missteps, sharps and flats but I guess that's what karaoke is all about. Non-singers having a fling and throwing caution to the wind. Make sure you have an accomplice next time, Mal, for recording purposes. Ha! I'm not the singer I once was but every now and then I find my groove. Cheers.

How’d I miss your new song! Oh, well. That was so great, Doc Creed ! Nice job. Elton John is one of my musical idols, and that is such a fun song. :congratulatory: Thanks for sharing with us!
Ha! Where is my shame? (Checks pockets) Seems I've misplaced it. :D

Yeah, it is a great song to sing but extremely difficult. (Note to self: Choose songs that are actually in your vocal range.) LOL

Thanks, APP...looking forward to your next performance.

Great job, Doc!

I have never karaoked. But I have sung with a band several times. When I (briefly) lived in Tucson the house band at the bar I frequented would let me sing "Best Of My Love." That and "Desperado" are my go-to tunes. Don Henley is perfectly in my range.
That is awesome, you've got to practice and let her rip one night. If you are open for suggestions, I request you sing "Boys of Summer", heck, "Desperado" would do, too.

...oh, and thanks. :calm:

(If I may ask, when did you live in Tuscon? Did you like it there?)

Spent a summer there. Chasing love but it was not to be....

I'd consider "Boys Of Summer." :)

Haha, I do that to myself all the time. I’ll see a song that I know and get all excited, only to find out once I start that, NOPE, I can’t hit the low notes!

That IS a difficult song, with lots of unusual notes, but you sang it very well! Didn’t sound like it was out of range at all. And you had fun with it, too, which makes it even better. :)
