...maybe so, but the roll out that mattered was Vietnam....right gun, wrong theatre....and not well received until the fatal flaws were cleaned up...

Not defending the gun, just saying. It was like at the start of the 1990 war with Iraq. NATO members of the coalition had trouble with sand getting into equipment designed for Europe not the desert.

We all have seen the Pulitzer Prize winning photo of the little naked girl, burned over 30% of her body, running with a bunch of other children. I will not bring photo here as it is a naked child, and not sure it would be allowed on site. But you all have seen the picture.

Here is a picture of that little girl grown up. She moved to outside of Toronto, Canada.

Bev, not sure the timeline of your move to America, but I'm guessing you lived in Canada at the time of Vietnam. I am curious as a Canadian, what did you think about the influx of American deserters? Or what did your family or community think? I'd be interested in a Canadian's point of view.

I lived in Canada until 1987. I was a little young to think much about the Vietnam War. I remember when it ended, but I wasn't very aware of it while it was going on. Also, I lived in a rural area, so whatever influx happened didn't affect us.

Who else are our Canadians here? Neesy, mal , staropeace ? Any others who would care to respond to my question, I'd love to hear your imput.

Did you, your family or your community have feelings that you are aware of and remember about the American influx of deserters. For the record, I personally hate calling them deserters. I call them men who saw the absolute ignorant futility in this war and chose not to support it.

I finished the series. I learned so much. I recommend this to everyone.

I felt the documentary was done very well. All sides of it. All feelings about it. Just the massive amount of work that was put into bringing this to the small screen is mind boggling. Good job Ken Burn and Lynn Novick.
