...last year's first ever gathering was held at Pushaw Lake in Maine...some of us chose to camp there, while others got rooms in nearby areas...and Tracy and I did both...there are plenty of accommodations in and around Mansfield in all price ranges, plus Bed & Breakfasts...camping is available too, though not really necessary for this year's event...if held in Ohio...King Kon 2013 was an informal get-together of about 30 or so of us, between spouses, significant others etc...it was very intimate and very nice...a group that size makes it extremely simple to get around to all and get to know each other better...cost will basically boil down to your travel, room or rooms, incidentals and banquet room rental for a one night "everybody hangs out together" event...it is NOT exorbitantly expensive in and of itself...travel ends up being the big hurdle for most...and North Central Ohio is rich with things to do and plenty of shopping...if it ends up being the destination...I will get with the Visitors and Convention Bureau head and start compiling a list of rooms, attractions etc...air travel to the area would be to Columbus or Cleveland and possibly Akron/Canton...travel from the Columbus and Cleveland air hubs to Mansfield is approx. and hour and a half...so car rental must be considered...or,Tracy and I would be willing to bunk as many as possible here at our very humble home...

Steve had an extremely busy 2013 and needs to spend more time on his writing and with his family so told me a few months ago that he is not going to do any appearances in 2014. And, as I've already mentioned, he does not do conventions--hasn't done them since the '80s.
Lots of things I haven't done since the 80's also...wear Members Only jackets, parachute pants, listen to Winger, obsess over Samantha Foxx, ahhhh, the 80's...

Things I haven't done since the 80s:
Wear leg warmers and cut up sweatshirt, used AquaNet and a hair dryer to spray up some rooster bangs, puke at a Motley Crue concert, those days are soooo over.
LMAO, didn't get a to puke at a Motley Crue concert, but I'll raise you a drunken stroll thru downtown Little Rock, AR after a ZZ Top concert..lol

Things I haven't done since the (late) 80's....? :hmm:

Been caught in a tree fire. ('Hobo-stove' gone wrong)
Pissed off a (neighbour) farmer for 'helping' him bring his cows in for milking. (a little too quickly)
Had a 'spiral perm'... = 2 minute noodle hair.
A bunch of other stuff that I just can't remember... maybe I met Will Smith wearing a black suit and dark sunny's, or some such thing?

It's cold over here! If it's going to be this cold, I want some snow and ice so everything will close and I can stay home some more. It was 27 when I got home just an hour or so ago.
...10 this morning with a wind chill of -8...I can't afford anymore shrinkage, or I'ma gonna be in the negative numbers myself....:hitch:
