Yeah, I was hoping to meet you (and others, of course) too. I'm told there's a chance we might be able to make a claim on the insurance or against the bods who did the repair, but only the Flying Spaghetti Monster/God/Gan knows if that's right and how long it'd take to get sorted out. In the meantime, it is what it is.
I've been counting the beans - using my best maths as well as all my fingers and toes - to see if there might still be a way, but if there is I can't see it.
(I mean, there is a way, but it'd be mighty tight and there is a risk of it going very wonky, so I dunno. Might be a case of wait and see. And I'm seriously tempted to knock the place down and start again. Been sod all but trouble. *goes away muttering dark things*)
Wonky sounds bad.
Wait and see is a good attitude to take, that way you don't have expectations, yet you may be pleasantly surprised.

If you knock your place down, you might just have to MOVE here.

Honestly, I want to see all of Maine because we plan to retire there but I especially want to have a legitimate excuse to say Bah Hahbah. :)
For some reason Maine 'calls' to me also. I don't know why. D*mn cold winters and short summers aren't my thing and Maine's got them but I just feel the need to be there. Maybe not to live but at least visit. I suppose I could afford to buy a single wide trailer out in those woods and retire.....

I know exactly why it calls to me :) and I love short summers and especially cold winters but it's our retirement plan because the cost of real estate is the cherry on that damn near perfect sundae. We could buy a comparable house there for literally a tenth the cost of our house in Seattle.

The real estate prices is why I moved from the Seattle area to Spokane. You can pay 1/3 the price here in Spokane for a similar house in Seattle. I lived in a two bedroom one bath condo in Everett for 12 years that I paid $58,000 for and sold it for $158,000! Moved to Spokane and paid cash for my house.

We have all four seasons in Spokane. Summers aren't all that bad. There were a handful of days when the temperature rose into the upper 90's and into the low 100's. Those are the days that I love to ride my bike and sweat off those Tillamook Ice Cream calories!! ;-D
