Yeah, we booked a new place. It isn't as nice, was more expensive, and the location isn't as good (out of town on Hermon's Pond rather than in town on the Penobscot) but it is not too far out and is a cute rustic cabin with a paddle boat so it'll still do nicely.Did you get this resolved??
I think I'm about to pull the trigger and get all our stuff booked. Trying to work out all the costs and figure out the best itin.

....April 30 is going to be the deadline for "definites"....there are some things swirling behind the scenes that we need a fairly accurate count....not trying to shy anyone away, just the reality of trying to herd the cats....errr details.....

Josh and I met Marsha so now that’s an incentive to see her again, this time in her own stomping grounds.
I’d make a joke here about coming back to find an empty house if we go without my spouse but to be honest I’m still not sure what Andy’s travel dates are for coming back home from up North- I’ll keep asking until I get an answer eventually
UGGGGH! American Airlines just changed our flight and wants to make us leave 3 hours earlier (this is actually already the 4th change they've made to our itinerary since we booked). I really hate that they were the only ones with options that worked for our outbound flight because I fully expected something like this to happen. This has always been my experience with them. We already have barely any time in Bangor compared to the amount of time we're spending in travel so now I'm talking to them now about pushing our return to the next morning which will mean missing more time from work, paying for an extra night of hotel, and an extra day of car rental but I don't see that I have any other choice at this point.
It's official. We're staying until 5:29 am on the 23rd now. It really is better to get the extra time but now I have to find a cheap motel by the airport for the night of the 22nd.
My niece and sister both had horrible experiences with AMAir. I won't fly with them ever. They changed (cancelled) my sister's flight back home 2 hours before she was supposed to fly out. She had to stay one more day with me (which I loved), luckily it didn't mess up things for her too badly.
Yeah, I haven't flown with them in about a decade because that's the sort of thing that always what happens to me when I fly with them. I never choose them on purpose but sometimes they wind up being the only option. The worst experience I had was when they diverted a flight I was on to Reno during a snowstorm (we were flying to LAX and there was some sort of problem there) and all flights in and out of Reno wound up grounded due to weather. Why would they have diverted to a city in the middle of a snowstorm??!!! I was stuck there overnight with two toddlers on my own. After fighting with them for several hours, they put me up in a hotel but with only enough time for us to get 3 hours of sleep before we had to be back at the airport for our 6 am flight but then that flight wound up canceled too so we were in the airport with almost no sleep for 6 hours until we could get another flight out. If you haven't been to the Reno airport, it's full of slot machines that look like SO MUCH FUN to toddlers! You know who isn't allowed to touch them though? Toddlers. It was the most exhausting day I've ever had in my life. That was in the late 90s. I've only flown with them a few times since but every single time has been riddled with problems. I've literally never had a single good flight experience with them.
