So, what do the Bangorites think about the Hampton Inn Bangor on Haskell Road? Right now for this July, Hilton Honors members can get rooms for 20,000 points which is pretty good pt to $ ratio.
The problem with asking locals is that they don't usually stay at the hotels in their area. ;-D I don't know of anyone who has stayed there but it's near the mall so lots of restaurants (mostly chains) and shopping nearby and is right off I-95. TripAdvisor usually does a decent job of reviewing hotels. They rank it as #11 best value of 26 hotels in Bangor.

Thanks! Yes, I get the irony, but sometimes locals put their friends and family up in a hotel, etc. ;;D I googlemapped it and it's about 13 mins from the Best Western and Gerald Winters & Sons is about in the middle of the two.

I've heard back about the bus tour Scott mentioned in his first post. It would be $24 per person and the bus holds 54 passengers. They would need 90 days notice to cancel a reservation and are recommending doing a reservation be made ASAP. Anyone interested?

Is somebody collecting money ahead of time to reserve seats for the tour? We don't mind paying in advance.

And I want in on the committee. As a Derry (NH) resident, I should be a shoo in!
