.....soooooo, I finally had a chance to speak with a delightful young lady at the Dodge City Visitor and Convention Bureau yesterday....she is putting together a tentative list of "things to do" next Summer.....I have chosen the weekend of July 17th-19th 2020.....lots of history, plenty of shopping, a distillery tour, possible paranormal hunt, Boothill Cemetery etc.......there is a nearby casino for those so inclined and she will also have a list of hotels and eatery's who will be vying to accommodate us.....will keep you posted as info arrives....

Well. I finally did what Grandma deserves and arranged for a nice getaway with friends. With the work schedule, our friends' schedule, and the cruise line's schedule, the time windows were tight. We're doing a short river cruise (Danube) in Europe, bookended by touring in Budapest and Vienna. It's not as extravagant as it may sound - I'm getting our flights on miles, we're sharing an apartment with our friends, and the cruise itself came at the right price.

Anyway, we fly back from Vienna on 7/16. That makes it tight, and a little crazy, if I want to make it. But it's only a six-hour drive from my stoop to Dodge City, so there's still a chance. I'll try, I really will.

Man, it would be nice to be at the swan song. Thank you, Scott, for setting this up. As always, Mr. Stalwart.

The more things change, the more they.... change.

Well, in this Era of Social Isolation, we've been pretty well forced to cancel our cruise in July. The progression curve is just too unpredictable, and we're not enamored with the thought of being in Central Europe and on the SS Petri Dish floating around and getting quarantined.

So if society is still allowing get-togethers in July, I'm in! I say that without having consulted with Grandma, but she's usually up for an adventure. I'll talk to her about it, but for now, count us as a probable yes. We'd be driving out. Six and a half hours for us.

....I never expected to ever post something that is going to gut me like this one will.....I am calling off the Kon.....in light of the continuing health crisis, and the uncertainty of "recovery" from same-I cannot and WILL NOT put anyone's lives, or their loved ones lives at risk.....I understand that the event isn't until mid-July, but our travel ban is in place in Ohio until the end of June.....so much is unknown at this juncture-that I have to shutter it and I may not be well, or could even be a carrier......I am in almost physical pain from having to make this decision, but you all mean the world to me and the love I have for everyone cannot allow any harm to come to this Tet.....I am so very sorry...hopefully this notice allows for needed cancellations and re-direction of funds.....Tracy suggested putting things off until the same time next year, and if all is well-I'm fine with that.....communication with the Board being shut down might be an issue, but let me calm down and we can discuss that going forward.....regardless, this year has been lost to CoVid......again, I'm deeply sorry.....
