I'm a little worried about Brutus, the wonder cat.
stonerbrubru1.jpg

He's been hanging out with my daughter and her fiance while Tall Guy and I settle the house. Come to find out, though, that a relative of my future SIL took Brutus to the vet and got him medicated with a variety of antibiotics, steroids, and anti-anxiety meds, all without my knowledge or consent. Poor baby is stoned.
I've put my foot down about his care. He's my cat. It's my call. I'm taking him to my own vet to find out what to do about these drugs they're pumping into my cat.
Please send Brutus warm, healing and sobering vibes.

Brutus The Wonder Cat is home with me where he belongs. We've been to OUR vet and taken control of what medications he takes and what he doesn't. No matter how well-intentioned somebody is, he's my cat. It's my call.

Now if only I could get Cheyenne (one of our tortie girls) to stop squaring off on him. But he's as big as she is now, so one of these days he's going to let her know he's had enough of that.

Great news.

wow. you don't do that with someone's pet, unless you are seeking emergency care due to an accident of some sort that is life threatening. Every day care is your decision.

I was LIVID. That's like taking somebody's child to a different doctor without asking them.

Except for hissing matches with Cheyenne, he's doing very well. My high-maintenance child has to have vet-quality wet food, so I've got to feed him separate from the girls or they'll gobble it up. He can't have dry (they cause urinary crystals), but he loves it. If he gets the chance, he gobbles that down. It's a bit of a juggling act making sure he's in the room with his food, and I make sure to pick up the dry food before he comes out. But everybody's healty, so it's worth the effort.

Brutus and Cheyenne were in the same room together without fighting, for about a minute.

Then the hissing started and I had to break it up.
I think they'll get there.

I'm hanging in. All I can do.
Bethy goes in that hole to hide from the dog.
Remember the black, and white cat we had? We had to take her back. She just wasn't fitting in.
So, as a deal with Kat to do better in school, Karen promised her a kitten. Kat wouldn't talk to the teacher, she wouldn't do her work, and the teacher thought that Kat hated her. It was a mess for awhile.
Then she improved greatly so she got her kitten. That kitten is so lovable, and from day one, wasn't scared of the dog. He changed Bethy's attitude also.

He was 10 weeks old when Karen got him. Kat named him Tiger.
