Just finished the 1st Odd Thomas book and I'm watching the movie now as well. I liked the book and the snappy patter between Odd, the Chief, and Stormy at times and it made me laugh in numerous places. Obviously a 20 year old isnt going to have that kind of dialogue with himself or others but it was still pretty funny. 1/2 way through the movie and Anton Yelchin seems miscast, maybe Nick Hoult would have been better? Didnt know Oddie was such a brawler either but I'm enjoying it. I plan to start the next n the series and read it in dribs and drabs between King books. Anyone else into this serries. It's my first Koonts book.

I just recently discovered the Odd Thomas series and have really enjoyed it. i tried the movie, but it was too soon after Anton's passing and I just couldn't finish. I did think he was a good casting, though. There are several other Koontz fans on the board.

I listen to them out of order...started with the last one went to first since I was sort of slow on the upkeep of the order they go in. I like them thought they where funny and sad at times. However don't read the manga of them until you read all the books. They change some things and mess things up.

....I collected them from the onset, and was never really disappointed.....some were a bit sluggish-but overall, Odd is one of the best fictional characters I've ever had the pleasure of "meeting".....
