Hey everyone,

I was looking for suggestions for a good Koontz novel to start with. I have never read one of his books but always love the sound of them,

Whats your favourite?
Did you ever choose one? I recently read my first Koontz book, it was Lightning and it was extremely good. I would happily recommend it.

Well, I have picked up a whole collection of his books, I haven't read one yet. I recently finished Salem's Lot and then couldn't wait to read The Stand, I am about a third of the way through at the min.

I do plan to read some though, so many books and so little time!

Thanks for the recommendation though :)

Personally, I generally prefer his older stuff.
The Bad Place, Servants of the Twilight, Watchers, Lightning are examples of the ones that stick out for me.
That said, False Memory was a bloody good read, as were Ashley Bell and The Silent Corner.

Still don't understand the hype around the Odd Thomas series myself though?? :umm:

...no worries....The Odd One is a particular favorite of mine because that series allows Koontz to display his quirky sense of humor.....

I don't know if I read it at the wrong time and possibly in not in the right frame of mind or whatever.
I just keep/kept seeing an awful lot of praise for it and so jumped in with high expectations.
So far I have only read the 1st book, which was okay, but nothing like what I was expecting given the incredibly positive buzz around it. But maybe that was the problem, I had built it up a bit too much based on other folks opinions. I will read the rest of them eventually though :)

Has anyone read Shadowfires? I want to look for a copy. I remember the cover and the synopsis but that's about it. Still on the lookout for Jane Hawk series.

Did Tori delete her account? Couldn't tag her.
...that novel is a good’un....and the Jane Hawk series is complete....I would invest in all books and do a straight read through...helps keep the subtle plot points and players in the forebrain....
