Watched The Rite (2011). A student, a future priest, goes to Vatican to learn about the rite of exorcism. Being skeptical himself, he learns a lot of things about exorcism and about faith. It's a really good movie giving an answer about what faith is. Pretty creepy as well. And Anthony Hopkins is great as usual.

Avatar. I thought I would never watch the movie, but then I decided I needed to watch it to get my own opinion about it... Well, it came out I was right, the movie is highly overrated, I was simply bored... it had some good moments that I liked, but in general I can't say I liked it.

Watched 'The Help' DVD, a Christmas present from hubby because he knew that I loved reading the book. It's a great story with a wonderful cast, highly watchable, I enjoyed it very much and look forward to seeing it again.

I agree with you about it being over-rated. I saw it the first time at my sister's house and she had just bought a blu-ray player and we watched her dvd copy- it is her husbands favorite movie- and he kept saying how amazing it was seeing it on a blu-ray player instead of a dvd player. It was pretty cool as it looked almost like 3D. But, it was a run-of-the-mill storyline with less than impressive acting in it. Just another over blown James Cameron film.

Unfotunately, I watched The Dead Zone. I was terribly, terribly disappointed. I kept thinking...I know the book is better. I know the book is better. I hope the book is better because in the movie all the characters were flat and on dimensional. As far as other movies: saw Saving Mr. Banks and got another Emma Thompson movie on the DVR--Remains Of The Day.

Oh, and I also watched John Carpenter's The Thing for the fourth or fifth time the other day. Excellent movie, the practical effects are absolutely amazing, especially the weird-azz kennel scene (those who have seen the film will know what I mean ! :blarf:)
The spider scene with it scrambling across the floor is pretty sick, too! (but good)
