Watched "Texas Chainsaw" in 3D this weekend. In addition to loving gory movies, there is a definite comedic element added to a movie by watching chainsaw strewn viscera fly out toward you...lol. My wife watched for a few minutes then just left the room after seeing I was laughing hysterically..shaking her head muttering something about "Deranged Arkansas hillbilly watching deranged Texas hillbillies with chainsaws....."

He Got Game (1998) - Denzel Washington

Spike Lee's tale of a young high school basketball star deciding where to go to college and dealing with fame and all of the people around him who want something from him. There are a few factual errors about recruiting but it's a very good flick. There are a ton of real NBA players and coaches in the movie. Ray Allen plays the young Jesus Shuttleworth.

No matter what the larger subject matter of a Spike Lee movie is, the movies all seem to be about the smaller stories of a particular NY neighborhood.

Robocop - 2014. This one plays the Murdoch story straight - and wisely steers clear of the black humour of the Verhoven version. A more than capable cast - Keaton & Oldham are excellent as usual - make this remake seem better that it really is. A pleasant surprise.

The Chameleon (2010)

This is a strange tale that is based on a true story. 4 years after a kid is kidnapped from Louisiana, he is found alive in France. He is reunited with his family but is he actually the missing kid? The family takes him in but the FBI doesn't think he is the missing kid. Ellen Barkin is great as the drug addicted mother. This movie is not as good as it should be but it's worth watching. WEIRD STORY.

Thanks for your comment . . .was hesitant to watch this one because I didn't think it would be any good. I'm a big fan of the original.

Only Lovers Left Alive. Finally watched this! A new movie about vampires... I would say they are modern 21-century vampires, and probably, that's right, because they can't live the same way they used to a few centuries ago... The movie is very beautiful, even hypnotic. It has already received a lot of positive reviews from critics. I liked it, I just didn't get the message that (I am sure in it) should be there, maybe, I will get it later. Anyway, it's worth seeing, at least because of great cast (Tom Hiddleston, Tilda Swinton, Mia Wasikowska).
