Late night triple feature picture show (most have probably seen these, but all were first time watches for me):
What We Do in the Shadows-very funny pseudo documentary about the modern day vampire hanging out in NZ

Only Lovers Left Alive-Another vampire flick, this one by Jim Jarmusch. Full of his usual style-langorous pacing, beautiful, arresting shots, some snappy dialogue. This is one of his more accessible movies, I think. Tilda Swinton is her odd looking self, and Tom Hiddleston is styled to look exactly like The Crow from the graphic novel. I liked it well enough.

Curse of Frankenstein-How can you NOT love Christopher Lee as The Monster and Peter Cushing as Dr. Frankenstein?

I got a big kick out of What We Do in the Shadows (apparently some people just did not get it, but I found it very funny).

The Shape of Water. This film reminded me of Thor: Ragnarok. I can understand why so many people like it, and it deserves many of the accolades its received. It's not a bad film, but it just didn't click with me. For years every time I've read or watched an interview with Guillermo Del Toro, he would moan about wanting to remake Creature From The Black Lagoon, except as a full-blown romance. Maybe that's why Universal never gave him the opportunity, so he finally did his own version. As with many of his period pieces, the tone is remarkably faithful to the era (or at least the romanticised version). At times I felt like I was watching shows like Bewitched, which made it a little jarring when the adult content portions cropped up. But after Crimson Peak and now this, I'm done with Del Toro doing big-budget romance shtick dressed up as genre pieces. Like I said: not a bad film, but just not my thing.

"Oh, and here is our poor, dear Petyr" *points to burned husk on the ground* or: "He's 8000 years old. Petyr doesn't need to come to the flat meeting." I loved that movie :)
Yeah, the flat meetings! . I loved how they were chastising about not doing the dishes. And they were so worried about The Beast. I just embraced this little movie, it made me smile a lot.
