The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Absolutely incredible. I was completely blown away by this movie. Maggie Gyllenhaal was outstanding and the little boy who played Jimmy (Parker Sevak)...so amazingly talented.

The story was unique. And as Mugwomp stated, very unsettling at times as well. The bizarre behavior of Mrs. Spinelli is upsetting and tragic. Yet, at times I almost could understand how she was feeling (until she really spiraled that is).

Gyllenhaal did an amazing job making her character completely believable. I felt how desperate she was to make a last-ditch effort toward her dreams, but got completely derailed. It was sad to see how much more she wanted for her children and seemed to take it so personally that they weren't "creative" types.

Couldn't believe this only scored 6.7/10 on IMDb. I would give it a 7.8 (at least!).

Nebraska is one state I haven't seen. My route basically circumvented the whole state. I have been to Kansas and Oklahoma and Iowa...I figure the geography is similar. Is it? I wish I could be a farmer; that's my ideal life. Maybe you like The Stand, in part, because of the Nebraska scenes?
Let me know if you watch Scruggs.
I have been to Kansas City once, when I was in high school, for a band trip. But have not seen any of Kansas other than that and have never been to Oklahoma or Iowa. Haha. Nebraska is pretty flat. ;)

Hemingford is an actual town. A small town. Same district as my high school, so we played them in sports a lot. It is just Hemingford though, not Hemingford Home, like in The Stand. But yes! It is part of why I like it.

1922 is the story that really got me in the feelers, though. The descriptions of the corn fields and how they rustle and grow up so you can only see the roofs of the neighboring farmhouses...that was spot on. That story makes me nostalgic and homesick, even though it is not exactly a sweet, feel good type story.

The streaming service Filmstruck is closing up shop. Filmstruck was a great streaming service for lovers of quality older movies. There really wasn't any other streaming service like it that I know of. The Criterion Collection was part of Filmstruck. The Criterion Collection was the best part of Filmstruck as a large chunk of their restored classics were on there (including the bonus features included on the blu-rays) . So, I just heard the The Criterion Collection is launching their own streaming service next spring to fill the void of Filmstruck. They are looking for people to sign up early and offering discounted pricing and a couple other perks. If you're interested, here's a link

Crazy Rich Asians.

Not a big rom-com guy here, but Grandma and I enjoyed this one. Sure, it's the rom-com formula, but if you execute a formula well, things will work out. This one did for us. We didn't know the actors, and that made it easier to watch in its own way, because everyone did great. Well, we had seen Michelle Yeoh before but didn't recognize her, and she was stellar.

At the end of it, we expressed a sentiment that we don't always have a the end of a movie: We were glad we saw it.

The Intern

Old but had never seen. A senior ( 70 year old gentleman joins a modern day internet business) Made me laugh to see "old school" meet technology and how it all plays out in the end.
That was a very good movie Spidey!

We saw the second one of the Fantastic Beasts (something about Grindenwald). It was in 3D and it had Johnny Depp as the evil villain, so pretty good movie overall.

I am not a die hard fan, so I just enjoyed the movie (not having seen the first one).

I liked the Niffler
