Inception, with Leonardo DiCaprio and others.

Quite good. We were kept in suspense. There were a few times when I got a little jarred with, "Wait, that's not in the rules you wrote for this," but they were fleeting. Very enjoyable and enjoyably complex. (I'm not a stranger to a dream-within-a-dream and even went one layer beyond that, so it was interesting from that perspective as well.)

I liked it, too. I like movies with strangeness in the story.

Inception, to me anyway, is just about the only perfect film I've ever seen. The only thing I don't like about it is the mis-casting of Ellen Page. She's far too young for that part. But, everything else is just perfect for me- cast, direction, sound, music, everything! Oh, and then there's Tom (Darling, don't be afraid to use the big guns!) Hardy........It gets better with each viewing.

There's lots of scenes like this in the film- Anne Bancroft's face when she first sees Mr. Merrick is beyond description. Hopkins is so wonderful in his role here- it's marvelous to see his character grow during the course of the film. The 'I am not an animal! I am a HUMAN BEING!' scene is gut-wrenching. The ending really does just rip your heart out but you also feel a much needed relief from all of the pain that Mr. Merrick (and yourself) felt. It truly shows that the 'monster' truly lives on the inside of us regardless of how beautiful we may be on the outside. This is a film that everyone should see. It is an American classic. And it's directed by David Lynch!

I agree completely that the "Elephant Man" is a Classic movie, but I believe that you might find that it is fact an English film?
David Lean was a remarkable man, and directed some brilliant films. Wonderful adaptations of Dickens stories including, "Oliver Twist & Great Expectations" and that truly magnificent epic "Lawrence Of Arabia".

David Lynch was the director, not David Lean.
