Saw Boyhood yesterday. I loved it; it was great! Very intimate movie. So cool seeing Mason (Ellar Coltrane) grow up over the course of 12 years, from ages 8 to 19 (and see the other actors change, as well). I thought that idea of filming it over 12 years was an innovative and different idea. Overall, good coming-of-age drama

Lil Man wanted to check out the original The Fly at the library the other day, so we watched that tonight. Lots of fun…until the end. That freaked him out a lot. I'd forgotten how haunting that little, terrified voice could be to a kid…this might be a nightmare night.

Psycho - 1960

Of course, I've seen it a few times already but wanted to see it on blu-ray.

I noticed something I had never paid any attention to before. After the opening title sequence, the camera is panning the city and then the words "Phoenix, Arizona - December 11, Friday 2:43 pm" appear. I started to wonder why the date was so specific and if it was Dec. 11, shouldn't there be Christmas decorations in some of the scenes? I watched the movie looking for some sign of Christmas and didn't notice anything making me very curious as to why that specific date was chosen in the opening scene. I re-watched the beginning and turned on the commentary to see if the commentator would mention it. Turns out that in one scene where Marion is leaving town, there are Christmas decorations on the street lights (I just didn't notice them). When they were shooting the scene, they didn't realize it and putting the Christmas decorations in the movie was not intentional and when Hitchcock noticed them, he inserted the date at the beginning to cover the flub.

Watched two movies couple of days ago.

World's Greatest Dad- I wanted to see that movie because because Robin Williams starred in it. It was very good.
Did You Hear About The Morgans- Hugh Grant and Sarah Jessica Parker both was terrific.
I'm a big fan of black comedy and this movie is very dark and hilarious.
World's Greatest Dad was extremely disturbing to me-it haunted me days after I watched it.

Saw Out of the Furnace on Netflix today. Great drama/thriller about two blue-collar brothers (played by Christian Bale and Casey Affleck). Dark and gritty. Really strong performances by Bale, Affleck and Woody Harrelson. I could watch Bale in anything!
I put this on my list the other night--glad to hear it's good! Casey Affleck just blew me away in The Killer Inside Me and Gone, Baby, Gone, not to mention The Last Kiss.

It's really great! I hope you enjoy it! I think Casey Affleck is underrated! He got recognition for The Assassination of Jesse James, but should've got something Gone, Baby, Gone--awesome movie Want to see Ain't Them Bodies Saints.

I do too. Casey Affleck is WAY underrated, probably because he's the younger, less good looking brother. I like Ben Affleck, too, though he's made more questionable movie choices :p Casey is the better actor, though.

I actually think Casey is better looking than Ben;-D I like Ben, but I don't think he's the best actor, lol. I think he should stick to directing, he's good at that, imo! Agreed, Casey is definitely the better actor!

Ben's acting is pretty 'wooden' to me. I've only seen Casey in a couple of things, don't remember what movies, but he was good. Oh, just remembered- one of them was a movie he did with Matt Damon where the two of them get stranded in the desert and have to walk and walk and walk forever. One of them kills the other, but I ain't gonna tell you which.

Oh, Gerry! I've never seen that one!
