I watched "Bird Box" on Netflix and really, really enjoyed it!

I thought it captured a spooky and foreboding post-apocalyptic vibe (if that's what you're into!). The premise was pretty interesting and they don't overexplain it but it makes enough sense to keep you invested. LOTS of intense moments, Sandra Bullock was great (as were many other actors) and it had a very solid ending.

8.5/10!
It’s all over the internet now and I’m sick of hearing about it. Wow, invisible monsters that make you kill yourself if you look at them, kind of paradoxical if you ask me. I’m not degrading on the film as I have not seen it, it’s just that it’s viralarity has shoved it in everyone’s face.

Dick Tracy meets Gruesome (1947): starring Ralph Byrd and Boris Karloff.

I used to love watching all the Ralph Byrd DT films on TV when I was a kid. I really think Dick Tracy can be a good TV show were someone to develop it. At the time when Law & Order premiered in the 90s, I thought Chris Noth would have made for a great Tracy.

That's Entertainment I, II and III plus That's Dancing!

These were great fun to watch for me. Gene Kelly and Fred Astaire -- at the top of the class with many other talented men close behind.

Eleanor Powell and Cyd Charisse beautiful. talented energetic women.

The old studio system was bad, but it was also good.

OOHHH - I remember seeing those in the old days - I think I was 10 or 11 - they were old then - IMDB says 1974 for the first one - I loved them. Where'd you watch? Netflix? I'll try to find them. Thanks for the tip.

I watched Bird Box Saturday night-I really really liked it.
Whew - Trevante Rhodes!
Watched it awhile back on recommendation of my daughter...

As in a couple of Mr King's works the problem I had was children being in deathly peril...

Interesting idea and well acted and directed. Enjoyed it as well (except for the children thing)...

Was not as taken with Mr Rhodes as much as you and the females in my family but I'm a dude so...

I thought the kids were bada$$!
Boy and Girl - wow - I just loved that part of it. They were raised to be tough. SAVE YOURSELF! I think that's my motto for the year

You just don't get it about Mr. Rhodes - that's OK - I'll keep him for myself, thankyaverymuch.

That's fine and no I don't but if you get him then I have a request about his co-star...

If I get Ms Bullock from Demolition Man or even The Blind Side (southern accent and that walk across football field) we will call it all good...

Deal?

Oh sure - we all love Sandra - she's just sexy enough and tough enough but not scarily so. She was kind of scarily detached there for a while though.

I have that one downloaded but I haven't watched it yet. I've been afraid to since the Star Wars franchise has been so disappointing the last couple of years..lol
Well, I'm one of the ones that has been happy with the last two movies, but my hubby was not a big fan of Last Jedi and he thought Han Solo was better. Like I said it's nice backstory. Give it a go and let me know what you thought.

Mowgli, a Netflix take on Kipling's "Jungle Story" genre. We liked it. Not a bad way to spend movie time. Don't expect it to follow precisely in the heels of the original story or the latest Disney version.

Ex Machina. Very promising, very engaging (at least for me - Grandma was more meh, and it does take a while to get into gear), but it didn't really deliver at the end. Entertained, then somewhat disappointed.

The Equalizer 2. Denzel does a very rare sequel and carries it off nicely. It's pretty brutal, enough to take some of the entertainment edge off for us, and there's a discordant little thing toward the end. But overall, we enjoyed it. If you liked the first (and we did), you'll probably like this one (and we did).
