This was a hoot. I'd seen it long ago but didn't remember much of it. This time I watched and thought, a person can truly sell anything if they have the money and charisma to draw in the worker bees."Queen of the Galaxy " ?

I'm not interested about Elton John's life. I would be more interested in Jimmy Page's life. Or Eric Clapton's life. More Jimmy Page's life because I like JImmy Page.Rocketman (2019): While it wasn’t perfect, it was greatly improved and much more entertaining than Bohemian Rhapsody was as far as rock star biopics go. Most notably the editing didn’t suck like it did in BR.
One thing that made this film fun to watch were all the imagination segments that went along with the music, and they had a decent variety of songs in the film as well. The special effects and colors were all good as well.
Sadly the film starts out fantastic but eventually starts to become uninteresting and slow in the middle and there were a few scenes where it was hard to tell if they were supposed to be taken seriously or were instead imagined.
Taron Edgerton does a great job as Elton John.
Since this movie only covers Elton John’s life up until him getting sober it basically ends with a slide show exposition dumping everything that’s happened in his life since then, which I can understand why they did that when there’s only so much you can cover in a biopic about someone who is still alive, but it seems kinda weird they would just throw important information like his friendship with Princess Diana or his husband onto a slideshow and treat it like side information.
Overall I enjoyed the film and would definitely recommend it if you like musicals and/or are a fan of Elton John. The best way I can describe it is a much better and more polished version of 2018’s Bohemian Rhapsody, it definitely handles the grittier parts of his life better than Bohemian Rhapsody did.
7/10
