Don't remember much of this movie besides the beach scene. :)

Hey. My eyes are up here.

The uncensored version is better. I hate when a movie is censored.

The one I caught the other night actually had a bathing suit on Michelle Johnson anytime her boobs were originally shown, or they just totally cut the scene.

The nudity worked in this film because of Rio, the culture of free-range skin and the freedom of being young and uninhibited.

Blame it on Rio

I love this damn movie. I love Michael Caine.

It is a fun movie but can you imagine the flack it would get if it came out in 2019? The ME movement would call Michael Caine a rapist since the girl was underage and he'd probably have to go into hiding. Weird Science is another flick I think that would take some heat if it was released now but its hard to say.

Yes m'aam...

Those are excellent reasons why nudity works in this movie...

Also, and I fall in this category so I can say it, not that many want to see OLD and uninhibited nekkidness… :a11:

Oh almost forgot (I get sidetracked easily when someone posts about nudity) went to see X Men: Dark Phoenix with youngest son and widow over the weekend. Many are saying it is the worst in the series. Seemed to me it was similar to the rest and was what you should expect. My youngest's opinion is similar to mine.

The widow?

She lasted to around 40 minutes into the flick.

Seriously why do I keep paying $7 for her to take 2 hour naps?

They f'd up from the start when they started making those films. The best era of the X-Men was when Chris Claremont was the writer of the comic, he used the mutant thing as a metaphor to show how people are bigoted to those that are different. His best story was probably God Loves, Man Kills but when it came to the Dark Phoenix, he did an excellent job and it was dramatic, intense, and at the end it brought tears to the eyes because it showed just how deeply Jean was loved by not only Scott (Cyclops) but Logan. She also did something at the end which some considered controversial back in the day but she did it out of love.

I wouldn't be upset if they retconned all the films and started over and followed Claremont's source material from the 80's.

See I just watched them because my children did...

My X Men were from the 60s so if it wasn't in a 12 or 15 cent comic I'm lost...:)

My daughter saw this with a friend on Saturday. She said the first 30 minutes were horrible, then she pretty much loved and cried her way through the next 2 hours.

Watched these, The Hole In The Ground is an Irish horror about a single mother who starts to believe her son has been replaced with a doppleganger, this is a slow moving but quite effective creepy little flick, good performances from all involved. Slaughterhouse Rulez is a horror/comedy from Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, who were the actors in Shaun Of The Dead. A private school allows a drilling company to commence fracking in the vast grounds of the school, a huge sinkhole opens up and subterranean creatures emerge and wreak havoc. I wasn't too wild about this one, there's a couple of chuckles but overall it's not very funny and it takes nearly an hour for any creature action to materialise, when it kicks off the creature effects and design are pretty good, it's watchable but only just.

I watched all of Liam Neeson's Taken movies. They're so addictive and much more satisfying than John Wick, which is just pointless gratuitous violence. Taken has a much better storyline and an endearing family dynamic. Famke Janssen is such an amazing actress. I remember seeing her in How to Get Away with Murder and that Bond movie. She was the original Jean Grey in X-Men. She would've made a great Wonder Woman.

I watched MTV Movie and TV Awards last night. As I've noticed for at least two years in a row now this event seems largely ignored. Even IMDb doesn't seem to have anything on it. Kind of strange, as this used to be covered just like other award shows. Anybody any idea why there is so little about it online?

Found a 4K/bluray combo of Die Hard at a thrift store and snatched it up. This movie never gets old! 'Welcome to the party, pal.' Has some of the best lines in it. Bruce Willis was perfect for this role.
Yes he was. And just had burst on scene as a slightly pudgier smart alec on "Moonlighting"...

Man I am soooo old...
