I know right???

Occasionally there has to be some testosterone filled shoot 'em up for us knuckle draggers...

I mean we sat through "Bridges somewhere in Madison County" and some "Bridget Girl's Diary" for goodness sake...
The only Clint Eastwood movies I've seen are Gran Torino, Million Dollar Baby AND The Bridges of Madison County. :snicker:

I watched MTV Movie and TV Awards last night. As I've noticed for at least two years in a row now this event seems largely ignored. Even IMDb doesn't seem to have anything on it. Kind of strange, as this used to be covered just like other award shows. Anybody any idea why there is so little about it online?

Because MTV has fallen so low that it hardly shows music anymore.:(
Bring back the good old days.

Finished Kill Bill the other night, I enjoyed both parts thoroughly and liked the ending. Can’t think of too much to say. The soundtrack was great, as to be expected from Tarantino. Been awhile since a movie has made me visually cringe from the gore, which is what happened with that tongue kill in the first volume and the scene where Uma Thurman plucks the other chick’s eyeball out in the second volume, oh Jesus that was freaky. I’d give the complete movie an 8/10.

I watched Jackie Brown tonight but couldn’t get into it, it bored me so much that by the time I was an hour in the movie had already devolved into background noise for me as I browsed Reddit. Samuel L Jackson’s hair was scary in this one.

Mississippi Burning (1984) Gene Hackman, Frances McDormand, Willem Dafoe, Brad Douriff

This movie is a fictionalized account of a 1964 crime where three civil rights workers go missing (presumed dead) and the FBI is dispatched to the Mississippi town where it happened. The film had critics because it was not historically accurate but it wasn't really meant to be. Anyway, I think as a movie (not a historical document), it's very good. The cast is great and the movie keeps you on edge the entire way. Frances McDormand is amazing in this as she always is.

We watched Murder Mystery on Netflix with Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston. Apparently we weren't the only ones as it has been quite popular over the weekend. It was pretty good. Funny and good action. It is a Sandler movie, so lots of juvenile humor, but we laughed at most of it, anyway. And shout out to Jennifer Aniston who runs all over Europe in high heels, like a boss!

Godzilla: King of the Monsters - 7/10.
The critics are full of poop: this movie is an absolute thrill ride. While the first one was an utter bore where Zilla made little more than a cameo in his own film, this one is a full-on rock n' roll clash of the Titans. My favourite (besides the Big Guy, of course) has to be Rodan, who was cruel and vicious right from his first appearance. Now that I've seen this, I totally get how Kong and Zilla could eventually face off. My only regret is that I didn't get to see it in IMAX.

No good? I've had this on my radar but hadn't taken the leap of faith yet.
Some holes but actually was fairly good until the end.

I won't reveal the ending but here is my thoughts on quite a few recent movies I've seen...

I watch a movie to be entertained. It’s a story… I want a beginning, a middle, and an ending that makes sense. Why the hell let the ending up to my imagination? If I have to write my own ending then why watch the damn movie at all?

I'd already seen at when it first came out at the theater last year but I bought the new version of John Carpenter's Halloween this last weekend and watched it again. There's something about the Michael Myers character that strikes such a strange scared kid spot in my admittedly, juvenile and not too bright mind, but the character is just scary no matter how old I get, which makes it all the more entertaining to watch. The movie definitely has a John Carpenter feel to it and I very much enjoyed it as I have all the Halloween movies no matter which version. I hope they keep making these movies till I'm old and gray, which I already am, so here's hoping for many more Halloween movies.

Gotta say I wasn't a fan of it, I really wanted to like it but I just thought it was a re-hash of scenes from the other movies, I literally spent my time watching it saying "that bit is from part 4, that bit is from H20, that bit is from part 2"... well you get the picture, I'll definitely give it another couple of viewings to see if I have warmed to it though.
