Where are you at recitador?
Please be careful.sorry for the late answer, there's been some adventuring. slightly north of atlanta. we got nearly a foot of snow. more than 3 or 4 inches is super rare. early december is also super rare. we lost power, had a tree in our front yard fall into the driveway, and when the roads got slightly better i drove to a friends house who had power but no internet. getting out of the driveway around the tree was fun, i almost got stuck because of the snow on the driveway and having to angle around the tree. shortly after i got to my friends house my roommates informed me our power came back on (after 14 hours or so) because of course, why wouldn't it after i made the effort to relocate? i was actually surprised they got it fixed so fast, when i left the house it was the whole area near me without power, not just our neighborhood, businesses included.
Seattle gets an inch and everyone panics and the city shuts down.Where I live in Winnipeg we can get a foot or two of snow and next day it's business as usual. Toronto can get 3 inches of snow and it shuts down the whole city.

3" of snow forecast. 10" of actual snow. I guess it's all the same to weathermen and women.
I'd take snow over ice any day. We're only getting 3-6" of snow today but they've already done early dismissal at the schools and I left the office to work from home because it's going to be mixed with freezing rain as the day goes on. I saw the aftermath of one accident and witnessed several cars fishtailing on the drive because of the ice already on the roads.snow and ice are two different animals though. people make fun of the south without realizing just how icy it is, compared to some locations getting a foot of snow, that's just snow. of course i can't speak to toronto's issues. they could just be wimps
Stay safe. No out trips til weather is better!I'd take snow over ice any day. You don't have to tell me twice.Stay safe. No out trips til weather is better!

Howdy, I just mentioned snow but inferred all that goes with it. I think all places that get snow have their melty and freezey days where that stuff turns into sheets of ice covering everything from cars to doorknobs! I meant frequency. It happens to us a lot more so it means less. Also, our infrastructure deals with it more effectively due to lots of practice.snow and ice are two different animals though. people make fun of the south without realizing just how icy it is, compared to some locations getting a foot of snow, that's just snow. of course i can't speak to toronto's issues. they could just be wimps
This one is a little more than a dusting but until it gets to 6 or more inches of accumulation, that's just another day. We don't even have the driveway plowed unless there's more than 4" of snow. The ice/freezing rain, though, that's another story even for Mainers.
Exactly. I've always said that when I die, I want to come back as a meteorologist as it is the only job you can still get a paycheck and be wrong.Meteorologist, the only profession where you can be wrong 85% of the time and still keep your job....

Excellent! I am very happy to have amused you. It's what I like to do. I do agree that everyone suffers. I apologize for my (mis)perceived superiority. I would gladly wash your feet! All the best, mal.i just think it's kind of amusing, cause i've heard more than one story about a northerner who thought southerners had ridiculous reactions and lack of driving capability when it came to snow, only to have to eat their words upon moving south and discovering that there's ice in that there snow. also, and this mainly applies to midwesterners (flatlands abound), we have hills. ice and hills are a no go combination.
