I love that King's work is one the offerings from highschool teachers.

WobblySpaceMaster was contacting the author part of the assignment? King doesn't regularly read here, and I don't think he's ever posted here since I joined. However, this forum is a part of his official website...so you've gotten as close as you can.

He may read it. And Ms Mod does actually work for him.

Hello Mr. King,

My name is Michael Searcy and I am a senior at Downers Grove South. This past summer I was given a list of books to choose from in order to read and I decided on Joyland. I am a very big fan of the movies you have written and this was a huge influence for me choosing your book. I also found Joyland to be the most appealing to me based on the suspensefulness of the description on the back of the book.

I must admit that I am not a very strong reader which makes me hesitant toward the idea of summer reading. Although I was very surprised because after long sessions of reading this book I didn’t want to put it down. Joyland gave me constant chills which kept me intrigued and made the reading experience a better one.

My favorite part of the book by far was when
Devin finds out who the murderer of Linda was. This for me had the peak of my interest in this novel and I wanted to find out how the rest of the book would play out. Since Devin was the main character of the book, I developed positive feelings toward him and he ended up being my favorite one.

I’m not sure if it realistic, but I would love it if a sequel to this book was made. It would be interesting if the new book took place years later and show the development of the characters. I think that many other people would enjoy to read a continuation of this brilliant book.

I really enjoyed reading your book and I want to thank you for the experience you have given me. I would love it if you could give me some feedback.

Thanks,

Michael Searcy

I'm glad you liked the book! I removed your email address to protect your privacy. Unfortunately, Stephen doesn't respond to the posts here so a personal reply wouldn't be forthcoming.
