Great news. Julianne Moore is a good actress. Even though Carrie could have been better, she (and Moretz) were great in it.
I felt Moore was a more believable realistic Margaret White. As good as Piper Laurie was, she also played it completely over the top - which fit perfectly with De Palma's heigtened cinematic style of course.
I thought Patricia Clarkson was good in the tv-movie also. All three of them were wonderful, but it's a role that gives actors a lot of meat obviously.

I still never quite understand how SK next to writing about two (usually long) novels each year can also find time to write entire series, but it's possible apparently,
You never get the sense that in years when he's writing screenplays, the output and frequency of novels changes...

He's been quite productive this year. In addition to the above, he's written four (IIRC from what he told me a while back) short stories. What he has done is cut back on interview requests and appearances which gives him more time to do his writing.

....and of course, neglecting my kitchen tour has saved him boodles of time......

He only rarely does interviews for the DVD releases of the movies these days so that's not something different. I was referring more to the daily onslaught of interview and appearance requests that come in.
