It's two days later after seeing the movie and I'm still on a movie buzz high! Last time that happened was for Lord of the Rings - Fellowship of the Rings.

This is a movie in the truest sense of the word. It relishes in active movement that not only thrills but tells a story you can emotionally connect with. Glorious!

Believe the Hype!

Mad Max Fury Road is fantastically frenetic. Movie will become the textbook on how to do nonshaky cam - widescreen glorious action scenes.

It carries an emotional thread almost solely through action. Amazing.

Charlize Theron owns the movie.

Need to see it again - so much action to process. See it in 2D if you can - 3D adds nothing.

Still loving it, CriticAndProud ? I absolutely can't wait to see it again. And all the 'men-inists' that are gritching about it should just shut up. Yup, Charlize talked more than Tom Hardy, but that surely didn't make it NOT his movie. They've already greenlit at least 4 more movies!

Yep - one of my favorite moments was when Max surrendered the rifle to Fioria.

Oh hell yes.

The next one is planned to be called Mad Max: The Wasteland, but nothing has been greenlit to my knowledge, as Fury Road hasn't made its money back yet (I don't think)

I read something today on FB that said the next one (at least) has been okayed. Who knows, though, right? AMAZING stunts (and I don't use that word lightly). Very little visible CGI, which was nice--one of the things that niggled at me about Age of Ultron was that a lot of the opening sequence looked like a video game. I think the Jurassic World people will be wishing their film had come out before MM:FR, and Abrams might take some cues for the next Star Wars.

Just back from falling in a big hole of MM reporting (lol), and you're absolutely right: no green light so far. As I read, it seems to be a given, though, as reviews are raving and word of mouth is great; producers are pretty sure the numbers will either stay steady or rise over the next couple of weeks. The Nerdist has an article about a VERY interesting fan theory about Max in this movie! And it looks like
Furiosa won't be in another movie--either she'll get her own backstory movie or they'll leave her as is. Not a bad idea, even though I really like Theron; if the movies are meant to be stand alone with very little thought about a timeline, having the two characters together again will blow that all to hell.

Beyond a shadow of a doubt, Fury Road is the BEST action film ever brought to screen. It is head and shoulders above ANY action film before it. It's an absolutely frightening and VISCERAL experience. I literally stood up and gave it a standing ovation at the end.

Will see it again this weekend to try and determine if it's actually the best film of all time. Whatever you do, don't miss this in the theaters.

Will definitely be seeing it again in the theater myself :) I might try the drive in this time.
