I'm really good at missing things and finding them later. I was pleasantly surprised to enjoy the movie Mandy recently. I'm very picky about what I will watch and when I read the movie description it sounded so boring and I know about how Nicolas Cage pays for his addiction to collecting expensive cars, so I passed on it. I love to be pleasantly surprised to find that I've been wrong.

The first hour of this movie plays like the literature of Fritz Springmeier meets the visuals of Beyond The Black Rainbow. I recognized many symbols that I am aware of almost immediately. The person or people who made this movie are versed in this material. The second hour plays more like a manga and sort of comes out of nowhere but it was still a fun experience.
