Why are It and Maturin enemies?

They aren't, not really. Maturin, the Turtle, watches and observes. On occasion it offers advice. It claims to have created the galaxy at some point because it had an upset stomach. The Turtle creates (it cannot help it) and clearly has affection for its creations within reason. That doesn't mean that Maturin considers It an enemy. If it did, one might expect it to be a lot less passive. The Turtle doesn't really have enemies; it is above such things. It poses no threat to the Turtle at all. Maturin, one can assume, doesn't approve of It but that is a long way from being an enemy.

Conversely, It has contempt for the Turtle but doesn't see it as an enemy. It is clear that It has never attempted to do anything to the Turtle either. They are aware of one another but don't really interact directly. Whereas the Turtle is about creation, It is about destruction or consumption. Philosophically, It would have nothing to feed upon or destroy without the Turtle, so there is a parasitical relationship at the very least. We don't have enough information to know if it is actually symbiotic, i.e. the Deadlights somehow manage to destroy enough to offset the endless creation and maintain a balance. I don't like to reach that far without clear support.

What is supported in the text is that there is another, an Other. This being may be Gan (God), i.e. the creator of the Turtle. We don't have enough info to know for certain if Gan also created the Deadlights or simply walled them off from creation. The story also makes it clear that this Other is working to aid those who would remove Pennywise. Gan helps those who help themselves. While the Turtle offered advice, the Other clearly is providing an aegis of protection to the Losers. It won't do the job for them but it certainly is a power for them to tap into.

Thanks for the response, I only asked because of the way it was talking with bill about the turtle, it seemed like it didnt really lile the turtle that much. But maybe it was messing with bills head by talking in a playful way.

Is the Turtle in It actually the Maturin from the DT series? As far as I know it was never actually named in It, and isn' Maturin essentially a cyborg turtle that guards a Beam? I'm just not sure if they're the same exact entity with the way there are infinite worlds in the SK mythos.
