Saw a gorgeous hard-bound, picture-laden, gloriously binded edition of the Dark Tower, richly illustrated, thick, lush pages, in new condition, fifty cents in an op shop. Hesitated over it, hesitated and someone else grabbed it and did not put it back...still kicking myself, talk about a blond moment!!! Found a copy of Blaze for five dollars, a little bit of compenstation...just a paper back, no pics. oh well!!

I felt that way this past summer about a copy of The Long Walk - it really lingers with you doesn't it?

surely does. fifty cents. so cheap. the $5 Blaze was very ordinary compared. I just can't stop collecting second hand King, my shelves are bursting!! greed....but also, a love for these books!!! honestly I have them stacked all over.

I knew you were. It's just a book and probably the new owner is very happy with it, and what's the point, I have a room full of wonderful King books! yep the AB's will win, fingers crossed.!!
But... imagine having that book AND the Rugby World Cup?! (Okay, I'm messing with you now... that lady is probably so over-joyed and maybe Karma will come back round for you... HEY! What if..... what if the only way we're going to win the world cup is if you gave up that book to the lady?! TANYA.... you might have just secured the win for us!!!!!!!)

yeah, hope the new owner enjoys it, and nice that her sister bought it for her. it would have been expensive new. Surprising that it was on the fifty cent table!!

Me in the local used book emporium. I have also run out of room for collecting books, and have an e reader so I can acquire a readable and portable library; but when I go in the book store and see all of those beautiful books, some abandoned by their previous owners, I want to pick them up and caress them and pat them and reassure them that I can give them a good home; and bring them home. I do this especially when I see any dark tower books, although I know I can’t bring home every dark tower book I see. Good thing books aren’t cats, children, or puppies.

Yeah, I'd be kicking myself, too. Ah well Blaze is a cracking read.
