I've been reading this book at nights before I go to bed and I found a mistake last night. When Dan and Abra are in the childhood room of Dan in the Overlook in their mind meld, they are looking at Dick and Jane books. In these books, the dog's name was Spot not Jip.

I dunno...there's precedence for it. Check out The Shining...chapter 16, may it do ya fine...Danny reading one of the old primers. Page 181 in my U.S.A. paperback version. But yeah, in mine, the dog was called Spot, too. I wonder if King caught a lot of flak when The Shining came out...or is that only a recent phenomenon? :)

Not a mistake in relation to the book or shining just plane old mistake. On page 301 pb. They talk about golden sombrero in baseball being struck out 3 times. That incorrect. Golden sombrero is when u strike out 4 times. King being a pretty big baseball fan, surprised he dint know that

Another mistake/continuity error would be Wendy & Danny's money situation. Just finished re-listening to The Shining and went right into Doctor Sleep (listening for the first time, I read it before). At the end of The Shining Wendy says they got $40,000 from Jack's insurance. No mention of that in Doctor Sleep only the settlement from the owners of The Overlook. They should have been much better off in the start of Doctor Sleep, but who knows with medical bills and moving that could go fast.

I'm just over half way through "Dr. Sleep" and new to the Forum, so please don't yell at me if I'm putting out an error that's already been covered. :)

I live in Central NYS. If this book is set around 2013 then King got the whole Sam's Club thing wrong, too. We have had Sam's Clubs in the Northeast for a good 15-20 years. To determine the general vicinity of the True Knot based on where they do and do not have these stores is completely off base. I know, I know, maybe it's some sort of alternative universe because of the whole Dark Towers series. I'm really getting tired of that reasoning\excuse.

I stopped reading King many years ago because I was so sick and tired of so much of his work being set in New England. I started again a couple years back because I'd heard so many people raving about the Dark Tower Series. Now - now, it's like every flaw or out of whack 'fact' is all to blame on that series. It just seems like King is using that because he'd gotten too damn lazy to do a little research, but maybe that's just me.

Anyway - just needed to vent a little bit about that. Thanks.
