How is "T" doing?
Maybe there is something we can do to help him.....some way, somehow.....there has to be something
He's losing ground a lot quicker now, it's more noticeable each time I see him... ALS is an unforgiving illness, but he has been so positive all the way through, really--he's amazing.
Thank you for that Sunny, I really do appreciate it, but I don't think there is anything we can do--just lots of good wishes for him to feel well for as long as he can--and for some dignity when he can no longer go on.

FlakeNoir- dear Flake-there are and will be many prayers said for "T". May the Powers that be, guide and protect "T". Know you are in thoughts and prayers too.

I don't understand? This doesn't seem right at all... :( I'm so sorry....
I'm very disappointed.....he received the second highest votes of anyone.....and without national TV coverage. I guess it wasn't meant to be this time around.
Here's Jay's note:

Good evening,
I say this with disbelief and sadness, but Lisa and I didn't win a van in this year's National Mobility Awareness Contest. As you know we started this contest after it began with a tip from my friend Richard Duncan. We fought very diligently to climb into the top ten and with the help of Kinney Baughman, we claimed and remained in second place. I was told from many people that you helped make the contest "fun" by displaying a daily "where we are in the contest" Kinney. Thank-you so much for all your hard work and most of all "thank-you" for being our friend! You are a true gentleman with class and I respect you very much. We had a lot of help from my friend Sherrie Norris from the Watauga Democrat as well. She wrote two beautiful articles about us and we appreciate you so much Sherrie and all your kind words, you are awesome. We had the best running club in the world help us called the Idiots Running Club. It is a long story of how they got their name, but it usually starts when two or more runners run together and they decide to form a club. In this case they named themselves Idiots because we runners are all crazy in our passion for running. They have thousands of club members all over our country and David Murphy , the club's president, went way out of his way and was so kind to allow me to put my story on their page. They took me in as one of their own because I was a runner who had fallen and that is what runners do, they help or should help one another. Thank-you David and thank-you fellow Idiots! I would like to thank all of my co-workers at Blue Ridge Electric who supported me as well and they are too many to name. I am blessed to work for such a wonderful company and blessed even more to work with a great group of people. Thank you to my best friend Tom Van Gilder and his family that helped me so much as well. Final thanks goes to all of you out there from my friends down in West Palm Beach all the way up to New York, and to people halfway around the world, thank you for all of your help. If I have left any of you out I apologize.

Wow, I guess we know how an NBA basketball team feels when they have the highest percentage to win the #1 Pick and they get the 3rd or 4th pick rather. I am very surprised that someone who finishes second in the voting does not win, but we will try again next year. We must remember that God is in control and He has a plan and the van was needed more by four other very worthy people. We must remember that they were praying too. I am going to keep this page open and we will use it to vote again next year when it starts again. I would like to keep building this page with people who you think that would help us in the voting again next year. The voting will be fiercer next year since more people know about this contest. Let's build a great supporting team! Thank you so much for taking the time and thank you for your friendship.

God bless and Love,
The Erwins
