They bear nothing in common to the descriptions of their outfits from the books (which were described in solid details) nor do they seem to match the setting of Midworld. They aren't gritty. They look like costumes.

Behind the scenes photos often make things look fake.

As for the look of the costumes - I like them. Also, there are hints that this adaptation is a different iteration of the cycle than the book's, so variation of details are plausible.

I like the look of Idris's costume, however Matthew's costume looks modern and not aged at all, not at all like I pictured him, too simple in a way.

But then again, it might be due to the variations on some details being plausible.
