A few possibilities ie Eddie and Susannah are not in this movie or more probable - they haven't been cast yet or the studio is staggering casting announcements and is releasing such news at times or events they see best for generating buzz.

Maybe not, but there really isn't much description of the Man in Black in the book itself.

One thing I really liked that Mr. King said at the book talk I went to was in answer to a question about the DT movie (that one was inevitable, I think). He said that Roland started out as a white guy 'probably because I'm a white guy' (Mr. King's quote) and was drawn by various artists as white 'probably because they were white guys' (another quote), but aside from the blue eyes there is very little physical description in the stories. He said that he writes that way deliberately, because leaving description vague 'leaves spaces for imagination and creativity' (another quote I think I got right--the talk is all on YouTube, I've heard, and this question and answer should be right at the end). I liked that so much that I wished I was recording--I didn't, because I have a probably overdeveloped sense of rule-keeping :)

Which book talk was this, skimom? I'd like to see if I could track it down on YouTube.

.....

Pinches himself for the umpteenth time. Checks the DT news again. Yep, still true. Matthew McConaughey and Idris Elba are doing a Stephen King movie and they're in it together!!!

True enough, but what there was of it didn't strike me as a daywalker vampire. The scenes with Ally in Tull give some glimmers of his description. I never said this was wrong, just light years away from how I pictured him. There wasn't any need to make him odd looking. That aside, I absolutely hate the costuming. These are great looking STEAMPUNK outfits. They bear nothing in common to the descriptions of their outfits from the books (which were described in solid details) nor do they seem to match the setting of Midworld. They aren't gritty. They look like costumes.
