I don't want to because I'm afraid it'll spoil it. I remember reading a Stephen King book, one of those collections, a long time ago and I had this habit of peeking at later parts of the book and I would even read the Afterwords before I was finished with the book. I still have this habit, but it's not as bad as it used to be because I did it with that book I read a long time ago and in the Afterwords he said "if you're one of those terrible people who has a habit of skipping ahead in the book, I would invite you to stay the hell out of here, lest you ruin the magic of reading the story to find out what happens."
It was enough to make me notice that I had the habit of doing it, although to this day I couldn't say where I picked up the overwhelming tendency to read ahead in books.
I listened to what he said and tried to change the behavior. It didn't work 100% of the time but it got a lot better.
