I figured I'd put this here because there is no sub-forum for this yet becuase it hasn't aired yet, but I wanted to get everyone's opinions on the upcoming limited TV series of Mr. Mercedes. I am personally very much looking forward to seeing the book played out in real life!

I think Under the Dome was originally planned as a limited series. I'm guessing it would have followed the novel lots closer if it hadn't been turned into a unlimited series. I like the UTD series anyways :)

I don't think the Mr Mercedes series producers would dare change the ending of Mr Mercedes so a limited series will work great :)

Will you watch it anyway?
I'll decide when it premiers. Having been burned by UTD (but forced to watch just so I can find out what the heck happens/laugh at the silly plot lines and bad acting) I don't want to get hooked on crap again. Although I am a lifelong Constant Reader since the publication of Carrie, I probably have only seen about 30% of filmed SK works.

How am I just hearing about this today? I have mixed emotions about it truthfully. I am always excited when a new story of SK is adapted anywhere. On the other hand, I'm not sure Mr Mercedes will exactly be an action packed series. There are an awful lot of dry spots in both books to consider when adapting it, unless they go completely off the rails as far as the story goes.
