I just saw an article that said, "Those interested should keep in mind though that the Audience Network is only available to subscribers of either the AT&T U-Verse, DirecTV, or DirecTV Now services."

For those of us who do not have any of those, does anyone know if it will be released later on any of the streaming services (Netflix, Hulu, etc), or at least on blu-ray?

I yearn for the old days of network TV and nothing else. It was much easier to find/watch shows. I'm old.

...s'ok...we'll watch re-runs of Lawrence Welk together.....

When you're done you could play with your Lennon sisters cut out paper dolls!

I think these are the ones I had a long time ago :icon_eek::O_O:

Why are King's works being put on stations that most people don't have? Is it in hopes people will get those stations? That might work if they all went to one station. (The Stephen King Network. All King. All the time.) But since people sometimes end up being disappointed by the adaptions, who wants to keep getting new stations!

I was looking forward to this series. I stopped reading anything about it when I heard MadEye Moody was cast. He's perfect and I did not want to hear anything that would disappoint me.

Now I don't get to see it. I don't think this station is available in Canada...and it doesn't matter because my bill is high enough and I will not add more.

Anyway, I hope those that watch enjoy it. :)

You got it!

But what is King getting out of it? I would think a series like this he could get on a regular station, but again he's chosing one people will have to order just for it. And a different one that the last series.

And when you consider there have been so many not happy with adaptions...who wants to keep getting new stations to be disappointed?

More than likely a nice little chunk of change upfront that he can put in the bank and use for a rainy day. Generally speaking, film/TV adaptation rights are usually sold to the highest bidder and an author has little to no input after that unless stipulated upfront. We'd need Moderator to weigh in here to offer any specific information she may have regarding SK. In addition, small fledgling channels like The Audience Network need big names to draw an audience so the deal brokered could have been a sweet one that benefited all concerned. You have to remember at the end of the day this is all just a string of business decisions no matter how romantically we'd like to think of it all.

Steve isn't the one who chooses the distributor. That is the responsibility of the production company that buys the film rights.

Thank you.

I think I might be happier if he'd keep more control. ;)
In a conversation we had last week with our contact at the Mr. Mercedes production office, we were told that they are working on ways to make this as accessible as possible for fans but we aren't at liberty to release specific information just yet. Their solutions may still not make everybody happy but they do acknowledge that having it on a cable network can make it more difficult for viewers and are at least trying to come up with ways for as many people as possible to view it.
