I've been fascinated with Mr. King's work since I was in 3rd grade simply because we shared the same first name and our last name's end with "-ing". When I found out soon after that he wrote my favorite horror movie, Creepshow, I was hooked (at least on his films and what was read to me in groups at summer camp [such as The Long Walk]). I never read much of his work until I graduated college and finally discovered I loved to read when it wasn't forced on me. Since then I've been reading his work in (mostly) chronological order, starting with his anthologies (regardless of when they were published; I had known most were written before his novels), then the Dark Tower series (he was only up to Wizard & Glass at the time) and finally Carrie, Salems Lot, etc. I've slowed down at times on the velocity of catching up with him but have ramped it up in the past year. I'm currently finishing Gerald's Game and moving on to Dolores Claiborne next week. I've also paused at times to read his recommendations in between (such as after reading The Dark Half then plowing through the very excellent "Dead City" (1972) by Shane Stevens (which I would swear was another one of his pseudonyms if I didn't know better)). Anyway, glad to be here with other like-minded fans and readers. Hope to catch up to the speed of his pen one day: I'll let you all know how it goes.
Cheers!

Welcome to SKMB - sounds like life got in the way of your reading for a few years there - I know how that feels!
Nice picture, by the way @Stephen Hynding
