I would probably be terrible if I ever owned a signed book from Stephen--I would utterly appall collectors because--as I would have no intention of selling it on, I'd probably hug it and squeeze it (and call it George) and keep turning to the signature day after day.
Yep, :a11: pretty soon it'd probably start to resemble my other well-loved stories.

It's okay, I totally understand that I'll never be invited over to my fellow StephenKingophiles homes. :biggrin2:
I'm with you. In my house a well loved book looks like one. The pristine ones are the ones I didnt love. They dont make the grade of the bookcase for long though.

My signed limited edition of Doctor Sleep arrived today! I am so excited, this is my first signed Stephen King book! Nervous I was going to ruin it! I saw fingerprints on the cover and thought "Those could be Steve's prints!" Should I wipe them off or leave them? LOL!

Here are pics. Cemetery Dance has made a beautiful book!

A beautiful book! My copy should be here sometime, but I ordered one with a remarque (drawing) by Erin Wells, so it will take longer.

Nice! I am jealous of those who got signed copies of previous editions too If he could sign any other copy of yours, what would you bring? I think my Pet Sematary first edition. I would want it to have my name and then his name. That would be cool.
Note: for newbies, he doesn't sign books, only at arranged engagements, so don't ask! This is just a what if....

Here, there and everywhere.
I don't think I'll ever have a signed King book (look for me in the obituaries!), so I'm impressed/excited/nervous for you, too, ff. It does seem like something that would call to a person in the night.

The only author who's ever signed a book for me is Donna Tartt, and I lug that book around with me everywhere. My original plan was to keep it in a special place and never touch it again, but it's always in my car, purse, or on the bathroom floor.

Make sure you insure it! I'm not even kidding. I am usually the last one to think prudent thoughts, but I think you should. That way it would be nearly impossible to sell if it were to be... Heaven forbid, nabbed. There are a million other reasons it's a good idea otherwise.
You might want to keep King fans who drool away from it... wouldn't want water damage.
By the way, your book is beautiful. I am in awe! I'm stricken with awe as a matter of fact.

That's a tough question. "It" is the first one that came to mind, although having him sign "Misery" with something like "To my #1 fan" would really be awesome.

I am definitely going to insure the book! I see people are already selling these for more than twice what I paid, not that I see this as an investment to cash in on. There are only 750 in the world so I have to take care of it!
